We have new photos to share of Beechwood, a 6 bedroom property sits on the wooded hillside above Salcombe’s South Sands Beach, courtesy of Harriet George Properties. Designed by van Ellen + Sheryn and constructed by Goulden and Sons, the house was completed in 2019. The house has settled in well over the last few years; the timber cladding silvering down and the corten steel’s warm russet colours developing. The house compliments the its wooded surroundings, especially in the autumn.
A raised pool enjoys views out over the coastline, and is accessed directly from the two main bedrooms – perfect for a morning swim! The open plan kitchen / dining and living area is located at first floor and has its own balcony area for alfresco dining with a sea view. The house is entered at first floor via a bridge from the driveway above the site. Once inside, a top-lit hallway and staircase leads you through the house towards the sea view.
We have worked with Goulden and Sons on many projects in Devon and Dorset over the last 10 years, ranging from Dartmoor farmsteads to dramatic modern coastal dwellings. Our experience in navigating the planning system, as well as our love of good design and attention to detail in construction has allowed us to complete some fantastic properties during this time.
