Van Ellen + Sheryn are delighted to be working on this project. We are sure we share this joy with the contractor, as it can’t be every day they work on a site with views like this. Word must have gone around though, as even the cruise liners now sail past to have a look.
The old 5 bedroom house has now been demolished. The site is getting ready for the construction of the new 3 bedroom house, for which van Ellen + Sheryn received planning permission in August 2020.
The design of the new dwelling makes the most of the amazing views over Labrador Bay, Shaldon. Apparently it is possible to see Lyme Bay on a clear day. Our clients will be able to enjoy this seascape from the many glazed areas, the roof terraces, and of course from their garden.
The new house which is split into three volumes will be dug into the hill side and will be finished with local stone and blackened timber.
