In collaboration with Galion Homes, van Ellen + Sheryn have just secured planning permission for two new, contemporary houses in the sought after village of Newton Poppleford, East Devon. The site, elevated above the adjacent flood plane was historically a coal yard. Now redundant, this in-fill site will provide two new, four and three bedroom houses with garaging.
The two storey houses incorporate large open plan kitchen / diners with access out to private gardens. On the first floor there are four double bedrooms which include two en-suites and a family bathroom
The design is simplistic in form, using textured buff brick for the main elevations, with contrasting grey, glazed bricks for zones at ground floor. The roof is covered in natural slate with projecting flat roof dormers, clad in zinc.
