Planning permission granted !

We are happy to announce that planning permission has been granted for the renovation of, and extension to a Georgian cottage in the Dartmoor National Park. Bottor Cottage sits within a wonderful 4 acre, wooded plot, but has sadly fallen into a state of complete disrepair in the last few years. The new owners commissioned VESP Architects to breathe life back into property as well as adding a significant, two storey extension to the rear.

The design proposal removes a redundant portion of the existing property so that the Georgian proportions of the Cottage are re-instated. A new contemporary extension sits behind the Cottage, clad in dark stained timber with a sharp zinc roof. The two structures are separated with a lightweight glazed link. The juxtaposition between old and new should create an exciting dialogue, whilst maintaining a clear separation and hierarchy.
